Not a simple story, it's artwork.

Literature is not a simple way of expressing feeling, opinion or even standing facts. There is much more than a simple article or book, writers think before they write. They have to go through a process that shapes the story into art. In literature every one needs to take steps and learn every sentence structure, word possible and ways of organizing to make the story flow without any grammatical errors. A story should not be read with only one purpose of knowing what it is about, it needs to be seen with a different set of eyes that read between the lines. They story can explain many things as, in what type of style it was written and how the author used different type of literary devices to make different meanings to the story. The metaphor, imagery, motif, symbols and the plot are all components that authors use to make the story interesting and be art work.

" I Give Voice "

I give voice to power
and I'm as loud as a trumpet and a drum
on a Monday and Sunday

The kind that goes to the mind,
 awarded with madness and ignorances.
The true power, control.

Controlling the voice,
the one to save the world.
From the once going mad.

The people who have no control,
of what they say.. The so call "stupid".
Soon to ruin the world.

I can control I have the true power.
The one awarded to the goddesses,
of world peace.

Green Light Project

  • What country are you originally from?
I am from Mexico

  • Why did you leave this country?
I left my country because I wanted to visit my sister that lived in Arlington Tx.

  • When did you leave? How old were at that time?
I left in 1994 when I was 27 years old.

  •  What were the conditions in the country when you left?
Many people didn't have jobs and were poor. I was one of those lucky people in my family that had a college education and a good job.

  •  How did you prepare for your trip here?
I went to get a VISA in Monterrey Mexico.

  • Who came with you when you immigrated? Who did you leave behind? What did you leave behind?
Nobody, I came by myself. I left most of my family; sister, brothers and parents.

  • How did you get here? Did you stay somewhere else before arriving here?
traveled by bus

  •   Why did you choose the United States? Why not some other country?
My sister had a house in Arlington and I also wanted to shop and visit.

  • Who decided you would come here? Did you want to leave?
My parents decided for me to come here because my sister needed a family member.

  • How did others in your home country treat you when they knew you were leaving?
People didn't treat me differently because they knew that I had a family member that could look after me.

  •  What changes in lifestyle did you make when you came here?
I had to learn the language and the culture of the United States.

  •  What was your first impression of the United States? Has this initial impression changed over time?
My first impression of the UNited States was all the nature and different animals. Also the different social classes that interacted with one another.

  • What are some of the differences/similarities you've noticed in the cultures here and in your home country?
The lifestyle of each person, how they based their lives on money and work.

  • What were your hopes for yourself (and/or your family) when you came here? Have you realized these hopes?
I wanted to learn a new culture and the way that Americans worked to get money. I wanted to learn how to become independent of my parents.

  • How were you treated when you first arrived in the United States? How are you treated now?
Everything was normal because my sister was with me at all times.

  • Were your expectations of America met? Was your idea of America the same as the reality?
Everything was beautiful but people had to work a lot to have the so call American Dream.

My mother came from Durango Mexico when she was 27 years old. She had a college educations and a job that was well respected by her family. She came by bus to visit her sister. Everything was so different from Mexico, she explained that in Durango the state she is from is it was all desert their was no plant or animal life. She said that one thing she noticed the most from the United States was that people had to work for everything. All that surrounded the lives of Americans was work and money. Her intentions from coming to the United States were to spend some time with her sister and shop, but then she saw how hard working everyone was that she decided to stay. At first she thought that every thing would be easier because she had a college education but over time she knew she needed to learn a new language and culture.

What is to want?

Many people have things in life that are not appreciated. It's always better to want more, this takes life to another level. There are many things that people want as love, money, friendship or everything. This can never happen if people don't set goals for themselves, they can make people work as hard to achieve their dreams.

Is better to want because like in The Great Gatsby many of the character wanted something so bad that they did everything in their power to make them happen. The characters that demonstrated this need were Gatsby, Nick, Tom and Daisy probably most of the main characters of the book. Gatsby the only thing that wanted the most was the love of Daisy. He knew he needed to do everything in his power to make the past come back to reality. The love of Daisy meant everything to him. when he came back from war and knew that she was about to get married made him do the impossible to regain Daisy's love. He wanted love, but all Daisy wanted as the money.

The 20's  were years that made people want more especially the poor because the wanted the American Dream that was all a lie. The rich had it all, the only things they wanted were things but not the ones that made you a better person. The corruption in this time was big, making the things that people want irrelevant. The Great Gatsby is a novel that reveals that the American Dream is not true making it an idea not reality. This was the idea that people had in the 20s the need to want a better life.

This illustrates how want is much better than have. The idea of having something make everything less needed as a goal. Goals make life more exciting because you would need to work and experience much more things if you want. The Great Gatsby was a great example to show what many peoples ideas of want are and how are they more important then to have..

Vocabulary Project

That night the air was plethora of fecund, that made that summer full of beautiful flowers. But I felt like a kindle burning from inside. It was incessant, that even my mother realized how I felt that she became tedium and asked, "What is wrong?". It was very elusive for me to explain.  Me and my mother were best friends, it was altruistic from me not to tell her. So I did, she then said that this was some frivolous stuff. The truth is that I didn't have the guts to say such a exorbitant thing. I told her a lie. That day at school was abhor, it was the day that I became the target of bullying. There was this girl she was renowned and grandiose in everything, that everyone would eschew from her. She became eclectic and I became one of her many victims. I was the new girl, the girl that needed to be abrasive polished. I didn't known most of the people, it was only my first week but I knew that year would be surfeit acerbic. She would attack the shy and the vivacious her actions were presumptuous hasten things. That afternoon she looked as waver as always but deep inside you could see how big of a bigot she was. I was walking to the restroom when if felt someone was following me. I whent inside, I looked back there she was. She started to harangue me, effervescent in everything she said. I felt to the cooled ground and stayed there until she left and the end of the day. When I went to sleep I started to think about everything and I told my mother. She told me to not let stupid words affect me in any way. The rest of the year I didn't let people bring me down. I made many good friends that were with me in the happiest tames and also saddest.

It All Together

  • Life of Pi is a work of  "Magical Realism"....
The novel had fictional characters that were placed in real time setting or events. Many things from the novel can be proven as the meerkats and tigers but many of the can't, they are not real. Not that we know of! Plant's that eat humans are not realistic because we have no evidence. Pi is the only one that knows the truth and also Richard Parker but he was nowhere to be found and plus he can't talk. So this story is told by one point of view that is Pi. This story can be true because there are many things that we can't see that we believe in, religion.
