Act III Discussion

5. Why does Antony befriend Brutus, Cassius, and the other conspirators? (III, 235)

Antony befriend Brutus, the others befriend Antony after assassination involving Caesar. "Oh, pardon me, you bleeding corpse, for speaking politely and acting mildly with these butchers!" (Shakespeare) Antony was true to his feeling after he realizes his life is at stake, because he was  friends with Caesar. He sees the power that Brutus, Cassius and the others have over him. In Act 3 we can determine Antony was afraid  of the others because they had just killed a person with such political power (Caesar). Antony wanted to feel safe, and he did this by befriend with Brutus, Cassius, and the others.
